If you’re reading this you have found Grain Growers of Canada’s brand new website. Welcome! This is a space to find out more about the farmers who grow your grain and the work we do to bring you safe, nutritious food, from our families to yours.
We are pleased to premiere our dynamic new look today, February 16th, the inaugural Canada’s Agriculture Day. With our new logo and website, we have taken our brand from a simple stalk of grain to an image that represents the breadth of our industry. The clean blue and harvest gold of the original logo hold strong and we have added the iconic maple leaf, incorporating one of our organization’s greatest strengths – the fact that we are truly pan-Canadian.
As consumers become increasingly engaged and informed on issues related to food production, our goal as grain farmers and food producers is to provide a reliable resource for relevant information about our industry. A recent study by the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity found that farmers are the most favourably viewed sources of information. We are proud of that trust and work hard to deserve it. The success of the ‘Agvoacy’ movement has demonstrated the collective power of agriculture and we have drawn on that for inspiration. Throughout the site you will find quotes from our directors talking about how government policy impacts them directly. While GGC remains a federal policy driven organization, the overlaps in public trust and regulation cannot be underplayed.
To help you find what you need quickly, we have laid the website out to have a little something for everyone:
• About – find our members, directors and core values right here.
• Policy – find the regulatory issues that impact farmers, and where we stand.
• Resources – find key, factual information about grain farming in Canada.
• Media – find our latest news and blog posts directly from farmers.
Poke around, click some links, and if you have any comments, contact me directly. We want to hear how this site serves you and what we can do better. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about grain farming in Canada. We can’t do our jobs without you!
