Media Advisory – Farming industry hosts press conference on CN rail strike
OTTAWA (November 25, 2019) – The labour disruption at CN rail has been ongoing for a week, effectively grinding the Railroad’s operations to a halt. The impacts of this strike are being felt from coast to coast and potentially costing the economy billions.
Farmers are on the front lines of this strike, relying on rail to move goods to markets all over the world. This disruption, coupled with a universally disastrous harvest could have an impact from which some farmers never recover. The time for government action is now.
