Canadian agriculture is a heavily regulated industry. Policy affecting farmers comes from all levels of government including federal, provincial and municipal.
As the Ottawa-based voice for Canadian grain farmers, GGC follows and provides input on federal policy that will have an impact on the ability of farmers to make a living now and in the future. It is crucial to our members that regulation is developed on a foundation of sound science and evidence-based decision-making.
At any one time, legislation is being written or revised that will have an impact on farmers. The following is a non-exhaustive list of legislation we are engaged on. For a full listing of current federal legislation, visit the Parliament of Canada website.
